Beloved Queen (BQ) - the title given to the president of the Triangle.
Convention- the biennial gathering of all the chapters of Triangle with the purpose of voting on amendments to our constitution, installing state officers and advisors, and partaking in fun activities.
Constellation of Jr. Stars- a Masonic youth group for girls ages 10-21. Founded in 1948, Constellation could only be found in New York.
Degrees- special ceremonies, skits, poems, and candle ceremonies performed during meetings usually for a special occasion or dedicated towards one person or a group of people.
DeMolay- an international Masonic youth group for young men ages 12-21. Founded by Frank S. Land in 1919, the founding members named the group after Jacque DeMolay, who exemplified loyalty and friendship as a Knight Templar. For more information, please visit www.demolay.org or www.nydemolay.org.
Eastern Star, Order of (OES)- is the largest fraternal organization in the world to which both women and men may belong. The stated purposes of the organization are: Charitable, Educational, Fraternal and Scientific. Eastern Star strives to take good people and through uplifting and elevating associations of love and service, and through precept and example build an Order which is truly dedicated to charity, truth and loving kindness. Freemasons or Masons- international fraternal and charitable organization for men with secret rites and signs. Triangle is a part of the Masonic community. For more information, please visit www.nymasons.org.
Initiation- an induction ceremony where a young lady becomes a member of Triangle.
Installation- a ceremony where the members of Triangle are installed into their respective offices.
Junior Deputy (JD) - the female adult who is in charge of the Triangle.
Junior Advisor (JA) - a Triangle member who is appointed to represent her district and the Triangles in it.
Line Officers- the 4 offices that lead to the office of Beloved Queen. They are Chaplain, Guardian, Jr. Lady, and Sr. Lady.
Masonic Hall or Lodge- the building where Triangles often meet.
Organization of Triangles, Inc. New York (OOTNY) – a Masonic youth group for girls ages 10 – 21 located in New York State. The organization was founded in 1927 by Rose E. Scherer. For more information, please visit www.ootny.org.

Ritual- the book or script of words that are used during all Triangle ceremonies and formal meetings.
Senior Advisor (SA)- an adult who is appointed or elected to guide and help his or her district and the Triangles in it.
State Director (SD) - the adult in charge of the Organization of Triangles, Inc.
State Representative (SR) – the girl chosen to represent Triangle at state functions for the Masonic Family in New York.
